INDONESIAN PLANTING MOVEMENT

Based on the available data,of indonesian total forestcover of 120 milionhectares, some 59 milion hectares are in critical condition ,particular on java ,madura, sumatra, and borneo island.if goverment fails to take urgent and strick action, its not inconceivable trhat these island could become well-nigh uninhabitable.,issue regarding the environment and climate change have become
the two most hotly debatet topics around the world today.in fact, the nobel commite has awarded
both the global warming campaigner al-gore andthe UNs intergovermental panel on climate change
the nobel peace price especially those related to global warming all always atributed to worsening people-made polution and the rapid rate of destruction of tropical rain forest over the last few decades .indonesia, wich boasts the largest extent of tropical rain forest in the world along with brazil and zaire frequently find it self the subject of criticism from both the national and international media, enviromental advocasy bodies.

the challanges are enormous.beside rehabilitating damage forest and eradicating illegal logging, which inflict greatlosses on both the people and the state ,there is also the challenge of protecting the trees that have only recently been planted as part of the rehabilitation effort.
trough the"Indonesian Planting Movement", the forest and critical land rehabilitation program is countinously being expanded with a view achieving the target of 2 milion hectares per annum as stipulated by the goverment .however at a rate of 2 milion hectares per years it will take more than 27 years to undo all the damage has already been done
